EQUIPMENT TECHNICIAN - Certificate of Achievement

2024 - 2025

Provides a broad range of knowledge to prepare students for a career as a technician working on todays advanced Agriculture, Diesel, and Heavy Equipment. Students will study in areas of electrical, HVAC, manual and automatic transmissions, diesel, ag mechanics, plumbing, electrical, welding, equipment operation, safety, hydraulics, and complete an internship. Completion of this certificate will prepare students to pass the ASE Certifications: A1, A2, A6, A7, A9, and students will receive an EPA609 certification.

Program Outcomes
Evaluate complex diagnostic problems on both gasoline and diesel equipment and be able to make the correct repairs.
Successful completion of all required courses in Certificate Program. This includes successfully completing 95% of the P-1 (Performance Item1) tasks 80% of the P-2 tasks, and 50% of the P-3 tasks as outlined in the NATEF (National Automotive Technician Education Standards) task list for each area.
Demonstrate academic proficiency by passing the EPA Section 609 Certification.
Will be a program requirement assessed during ATCH188
Maintain persistence in the program as evidenced by 30% of students who have completed 3 or more ATCH or AGM Courses earning and acquiring a Program Certificate or better.
A data analysis will be made annually to determine if persisting students are acquiring a Program Certificate or Degree.
