Program Outcomes
Perform music using an aesthetically pleasing artistic voice
The Applied Music faculty (local professional players and singers) will administer a student self survey to each student during jury exams. Applied Music is the capstone course for the program. Additionally, members of the San Luis Obispo Symphony (the local professional orchestra) and Vocal Arts Ensemble (the most professional choral ensemble in the area) will be present at the jury exams, and will rate the individual performances using the California Music Educators Association rating form. These evaluators are experts from both inside and outside our program.
Utilize the historical and theoretical elements of music in performance
